Detailed map of the Middle East, covering the Turkish Empire, the Persian Empire, Uzbekistan, the Arabian Peninsula and Egypt. Shows numerous cities and villages, including Jerusalem, Baghdad and Kabul. Good geographically, but precedes major surveys of Arabia, with resulting inaccuracies in the interior. Likewise, the Arabian coastlines are only generally accurate; the peninsula of Qatar is a notable omission. In typical Vaugondy fashion, the map is finely engraved
and complemented by an attractive etched cartouche.
