Large scale map of Japan divided into it’s seven principle regions and their provinces. Based on Bellin’s map of 1736, but tilted counter-clockwise and incorporating Kaempfer’s more accurate outlines for northern Japan. As in Bellin’s version, the Noto peninsula is oriented to the northwest. The depiction of Yedso (Hokkaido) follows d’Anville. Much of Korea is also shown, and the East Sea is called the Sea of Korea. First state, with page number 99 printed on the verso.
