In the center of the map is Lake Parime, the legendary inland sea with El Dorado on its western shore. The Orinoco River and its lower tributaries are shown with some accuracy, but the mouth of the Amazon is still incomplete. A very decorative map from the foremost cartographer of the Dutch Golden Age.
