Splendid map of the Turkish Empire in the early 18th century. The Empire is spread over three continents, from the Balkans and Barbary in the West to Arabia in the East. The large scale gives a sweeping view of this great empire and allows for extensive geographical and historical commentary. The map is enhanced with several striking insets, including a panorama of Jerusalem and several views of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the lower left. The top corners contain views of Constantinople and Smyrna. From A Catalogue of New and Complete set of Twenty-five Two-Sheet Maps [1710-1715], reissued about 1730 with 30 maps.
