Handsome map of the Oxfordshire, with crests of Oxford University colleges. Afine dark copy with authentic period color. The county is subdivided and colored by hundreds. Valk and Schenk were Amsterdam map engravers and publishers, who often bought or copied map plates from the leading firms of Holland and France. This map is from a plate by Jan Jansson, who published some of the most attractive maps of the Dutch Golden Age.
